UPDATE FLOORING INSTALLATION

Nash Timbers have implemented a Pre Flooring Installation Checklist, which helps minimise and highlights potential problems on the job.

TIMBER TIPS
Nash Timbers recommends that a thorough checklist of the sub floor needs to be done before installing timber floor.
Due to the excess rain in Sydney over the last 12 months and high humidity levels.
Sub floor area(ground under the house or crawl area) is not getting time to dry out.
Hence it is essential to ensure that the moisture is removed in the sub floor area.
Ensure water drainage is addressed, water may need to be diverted or a sump with water pump may need to be installed to pump water away.
Recommended tips
Mechanically ventilation when naturally cross flow ventilation does not work
May apply moisture barrier to slab.
Do not leave timber flooring in plastic when delivered need to carry in put under cover immediately.
Ensure that all windows and doors installed before timber floor is delivered or installed.
When installing a timber floor you may need to leave a 1.5mm gap every 1.5 metres across width of board.
Also 12mm gap under skirting board.
